Olbermann smacks down Rumsfeld

Check out the video here.

Countdown on MSNBC is an awesome show - and this commentary shows why I like the show. Keith Olbermann has the guts to ask the tough questions and say what needs to be said.

Bueller? Bueller?

Went to see Ferris Bueller’s Day Off with some of my softball friends last night at the Chicago Outdoor Film Festival. It rained the whole time up until the movie began and then it cleared up.

Some interesting trivia bits that we learned from Richard Roeper:

  • Ferris’ movie parents got married in real life after the movie, then got divorced.
  • Charlie Sheen, who plays a druggie (not too much of a stretch), stayed up 48 straight hours for the role.
  • The person that explains Ferris’ absence in the scene with Ben Stein, played Buffy in the original “Buffy” movie
  • All of the character’s cars have license plates from previous John Hughes movies

And I noticed this during the movie:

  • Louie Anderson was one of the people delivering the singing telegram.

Bush v Ahmadinejad

Current poll on CNN website:

Who would win a debate on world issues between President Bush and Iranian President Ahmadinejad?

And with 43000 votes - the Iranian president has 62% of the vote.  I agree, Bush knows nothing about world issues.  Too much “hard work”. :D

Brad’s Weekend Update

No - not the SNL fake news skit.

Softball - played a total of 4 games this weekend…we lost twice to the eventual winner of our division, Ping Pong. We did come in 3rd place in the league. I was 9 for 12 with another homerun. I hit the ball very well to the opposite field all day. Also, I set up a website for our team. Stop by and donate!

Website - I finished adding some of the miscellaneous links on the right side. Almost done setting this thing up. Now I have to work on the Podcast.

Personal - After hanging out at Big Chicks with my softball teammates , I went and met up with a friend of mine at Sidetrack, and then went and did some Karaoke at Charlie’s. Treated a couple of my friends to a shot of Rumple Minz which is a really high quality peppermint shot. Although I am not much of a drinker, I do like an occasional shot of Rumple Minz :) I am still in a bit of a funk, so I was not very good company.

Tennis tonight

Replayed an opponent who I had won against previously in three sets and WON again tonight - 4-6,6-4,6-2. I had him running the whole game. Had him pretty worn down by the last set.

Planning on taking Saturday as a non-athletic day as I prep for softball mania on Sunday. :)

Got my balls out…

Tennis balls, that is… ;)

I lost last night in tennis 4-6,6-1,7-6 and may have one more match this weekend before the playoffs start.  Looks like I will qualify, based on the number of matches I have played.

Sunday, weather permitting, will be the final week of softball season, and our team is gunning for the division championship.  Could play as many as 4 games this weekend.  Weather may be a bit iffy, 30% chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday.   I hope it stays away…I want to win a trophy!
