Bob Cesca: Rush Limbaugh: Wood On Loan From God

From the Huffington Post - so true!

This won’t take long because he makes it too easy. The comedy and hypocrisy gods continue to bless us with items like this:

“WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Rush Limbaugh could see a deal with prosecutors in a long-running prescription fraud case collapse after authorities found a bottle of Viagra in his bag at Palm Beach International Airport. The prescription was not in his name.”

Rush has been married three times and most recently was dating CNN’s Daryn Kagan. But as of this date, June 27, 2006, Rush Limbaugh isn’t married nor is he dating Kagan. (Can you see where I’m going with this?) Rush is one of the most visible representatives of the right-wing’s moral values platform — the same values that include abstinence and strong words about the immorality of premarital sex. (Wait for it.) Intercourse and marriage are supposed to be all about procreation, right? I mean, that’s one of the reasons why Republicans like Rush and Sen. Santorum support amendments banning same-sex marriage.

So if Rush isn’t married, why would he need Viagra?

last weekend update

Between Sunday and Monday, I played 2 tennis matches and 2 softball games!
Sunday AM - Tennis - lost straight sets 6-3,6-2
Sunday PM - Softball - our team won both games and our record has improved to 5-5. I was 1-3 with 2 walks. Note to self: get to a batting cage!
Monday PM - Tennis, won in 3 sets: 6-2,6-7(10),6-3. I had the tiebreaker won in the 2nd set, but was unable to put away a lobbed ball at the net. Note to self - quit the “cute” shots and just hit the damn ball.
This weekend - mo’ tennis as I am practicing with my NEW doubles partner for the Games.

Catch up!

Lot of politics lately on my blog - but not much ME.

OK…quick catch up - 2 consecutive tournaments in Toronto and SF. I lost in the first round in both. In TO, I pulled my hamstring in the consolation round and had to withdraw. I could walk on it OK, but running hurt like a MF.

For the SF tournament, the following week, my hamstring was OK but not 100%. I lost in singles and played the net with my doubles partner, who was fortuneately a baseline player. Was not planning on doing a lot of running. Lost 6-4,6-3. best yet!

Last weekend I was back at home playing softball. Played DH in Game 1 and RF in Game 2. We won both games, improving our record to 3-5.

Played tennis last night, and beat my opponent 6-2,3-6,6-4. Fun match. We played on unlit courts and got to the point that we could barely see. We had maybe 3 games to go, and we both agreed to finish, since we were both equally visually handicapped. It was TOUGH picking up the ball!

Volunteered @ Fair Illinois

I went last night and volunteered at the Fair Illinois effort (mentioned below) for 4 hours last night. Of the petitions that I looked at, I’d say 30% were invalid - unregisterd people signing, printed signatures when they are supposd to be signed, etc. If those percentages stay like that, it is off the ballot.

See this news story.

A great feeling of camaraderie in the room. If you are in Illinois, stop in and make a difference!

Help Keep Gay Marriage off the ballot in Illinois

A chance to make a difference - take a few hours and volunteer.

http://fairillinois.org

THE BAD NEWS:
On Monday, May 8, 2006, the Protect Marriage Illinois turned in an estimated 345,199 signatures to put an advisory referendum on the November ballot to ban gay marriage in the Illinois Constitution and to outlaw any kind of domestic partnership. Their leader called gay and lesbian families an infection.”

THE GOOD NEWS:
Fair Illinois, a group of concerned citizens coming together for fairness, believes that many of the signatures submitted are invalid under Illinois law. Fair Illinois is organizing to uphold Illinois election law, challenge invalid and false signatures and protect gay and lesbian families around the state.
We need to stop this mean spirited attack on our families. Each of the 345,199 signatures must be checked for validity and compliance with Illinois elections law. Experts tell us that our chances are good, IF we have your help, your time and your money.
