Laptop Death

We had 10 inches of snow and it started melting yesterday. Today it got cold enough and started to snow. Had my laptop with me and was walking through the snow and slipped on the ice (the melted snow refroze). My laptop went flying.

The LCD screen is shot. Cost for a new replacement with labor - $500 Best Buy “suggested” I look for a replacement on ebay….and i am bidding on it now. Could be around $100 - of course I will have to install it myself. Should be interesting.

Update :I won the bid on ebay! should have it by end of week. Weeeeeee!

Another Bush joke

Q: How many Bush Administration officials does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A: None. There is nothing wrong with the light bulb; its conditions are improving every day.  Any reports of its lack of incandescence are a delusional spin from the liberal media.  That light bulb has served honorably, and anything you say undermines the lighting effect.  Why do you hate freedom?

Inauguration

In “honor” of the inauguration I participated in “Not One damn Dime Day”. I didn’t buy one thing.

Here is a funny Bush joke….

The President, the First Lady and Dick Cheney are flying on Air Force One.

George looks at Laura, chuckles and says, “You know, I
could throw a $1,000.00 bill out the window right now
and make somebody very happy.”

Laura shrugs her shoulders and says, “Well, I could
throw ten $100.00 bills out the window and make 10
people very happy.”

Cheney says, “Of course then, I could throw
one-hundred $10.00 bills out the window and make a
hundred people very happy.”

The pilot rolls his eyes, looks at all of them and
says to his co-pilot, “Such bigshots back there…..
hell, I could throw all three of them out the window
and make 56 million people very happy.”

Tsunami relief

i am currently watching the Tsunami Relief Telethon on the NBC networks (CNBC, MSNBC, USA, Bravo, Telemundo, Pax TV, Trio and Sci-Fi Channel).

I have been working over the last couple of weeks on organizing something on a bit smaller scale in Chicago.

If you haven’t given yet…please do so!

Thanks to my friends Anita for teasing me and prodding me to blog again in 2005. Been busy!
