Bullet Points to close out the year

  • Nifty article in USA Today about blogging. (read it via the link soon, USA Today archives items quickly, 7 days I think.) I kinda would like my blog to be a bit more political, but I don’t want to come off as being preachy…..however this is my blog so what the hell. :)
  • Qaddafi….it is all well and good that he is opening up to inspections, but I find that the US is being a bit two faced on the issue. “Inspections for Iraq? They didn’t work” now with Qadddafi “Inspections? We are all for them.” ::sigh::
  • I really like my new iPOD. I have 350 songs on it and it is only 1/10 full!
  • From the I Thought I’d seen it all Dept: A guy at the gym was drinking MILK with him while he worked out today. He them took it with him into the steam room. Doesn’t the bacteria count get multiplied when it gets above 38F and stays there? Ewwww…

    Christmas

I have deleted some items from my amazon.com wishlist, should any of you wish to get something for me for my birthday on January 4th (or a late Christmas gift). My parents got me an iPod, a couple of DVD’s and a couple of books I had on my wishlist, so I have adjusted it accordingly.

    Weather here is OK….mid 30’s.

Hope all of you have a great holiday season! I’ll be back to the old grind on Monday, assuming I can get through airport security on the way back!

    record MP3’s from Streaming Audio

  • I don’t normally plug shareware, but this one is nice…you can record MP3’s from Streaming radio stations that are played on shoutcast compatible players like Sonique, MusicMatch Jukebox and Winamp. Just find a station you like turn on the recorder and walk away :) Check it out on the CNET download site. be sure to uncheck the box during set up, or you’ll have casino software installed. and if you don’t have it you should run adawareto uninstall any other spyware left behind.
  • Terror alert level raided to orange/ “Ernie” (automatically updated from here) Figures it goes up after I get my holiday plane tickets. : The picture on the left is from another site…i like the Sesame Street one better.
  • Photos from my Thailand trip have been uploaded

    Creepy!

I was on the train the other night and this guy was sitting across from me, staring at me. I closed my eyes, I was tired and he started tapping his feet and then he tapped his feet real loud, as in the whole train heard it. Finally we got to my stop, I got up, and he got up a second later….he then proceeded to advance to another seat and was blatantly reading another guy’s art book and then sat down next to him.

And this guy looks like the type of guy who would kill and bury people in the back yard or blow up abortion clinics. Gave me the creeps!

    Calendars and Thai Iced Tea

On Sunday, I set up a calendar for my parent’s dog a shih-tzu (you can see the calendar and purchase it here) They absolutely adore the dog, as do their relatives, Emeriland they purchase calendars to give to friends and to the dog groomer.

Found a recipe for Thai Iced Tea from a show Emeril will do on the Food Network….enjoy. The show will air on January 15th and 16th if you want to see some Thai dishes cooked on Emeril Live.

    Thailand Thoughts

Greetings from Tokyo, Japan! (3:23pm on Monday 12/8)

On my way back from a 2 week trip to Thailand and a much deserved vacation. Some thoughts real quick while I am on layover:

*Thai people are really nice. I think it has as much to do with their Buddhist beliefs and wanting to improve oneself, even outside the church
*I have been feasting on pineapple, watermelon and corn on the cob…..all in season, and all very good tasting. I also had Thai Iced Tea in Thailand.
*I have had some stomach problems while here, but remembered to bring Pepto Bismol.
*Clothes very cheap….bought 5 new shirts, 6 prs underwear and a pair of pants, would have bought more but had some credit card issues. :( *Siu Mai at a 7/11? This is the end of civilzation as we know it. (Did try it and wasn’t too bad)
*Weather beautiful….95F high/82 low for the entire time and not a drop of rain!
*Rode on an elephant in Chiang Mai. Some 77 year old female, and I am trusting MY life as I go up narrow inclines? EEK! It was fun though….

More later on my return if I can remember.
