Magnetic Storms + Blogs

Looks like another solar storm is coming. Said they could see the Northern Lights as far south as Texas last night. I didn’t look yesterday but I’ll take a glance out tonight. So much glare from the Chicago skyline I might not see anything.

Added “Big White Guy” blog on my blog links at right (He’s a white guy living in Hong Kong and having to deal with cultural differences). According to this CNN article, “There are predictions the net will be littered with 5 million blogs by the end of the year. ” Littered?? Excuse me? :)
Why not listen to my station on Launchcast?

Dream Confusion

Have you ever been doing something during the day and all of a sudden you remember a tiny piece of a dream you had the night before? I was out today and remembered someone in my dream talking about how this person “has bubble tea with them so they can keep up their sugar intake” That is all I remember! Then I spent the next few minutes trying to figure out if it was an actual dream or if this was some sort of actual memory. I think this was a dream…95% sure!

Global Flash Mob - Chicago

Just attemted to participate in the 1st global flash mob, but had some issues.

This flash mob involved holding up a sign witha random person’s name on it at the train station, as if you were a chauffeur. Of course, noone expects it at a train station. Problem: Red line northbound trains were not working at all so there were about a million people on one platform, including the flash mobbers. Oh well.

This was time-coordinated in 110 cities: I will add links if i can find news stories.

War on Terrorism

Nice to see the war is going good. Found out that a high ranking Penatgon official jas been helping the enemy all along, including Hamas. Then we have the Army chaplain. How are we supposed to win if people on the inside are pulling in the opposite direction???

David SchwimmerSBC can now sell long distance in Illinois and 3 other midwestern states, starting today. SBC Illinois president is going to call Chicagoan David Schwimmer (pictured) at a news conference today at 10am.

Spam

According to an article on Spam on msnbc.com, “Yahoo! said its marketing research highlights the extent to which spam is despised. In an August survey of Yahoo users, 77 percent said they would rather clean a toilet than sort through the junk e-mail in their inbox” That’s about right. :)

Chicago buses and the World Series!

Looks like there will be fare increases for the CTA if the budget gets approved. $1.75 for a ride (up from $1.50) transfers drop from 30 to 25 cents. Best part is that all unlimited pass rides remain the same. Budget is actually quite a good read. It’s amazing they managed to go 12 years without a fare increase!

The Cubs and the Red Sox are playing a dream World Series online simulated by computer. The Cubs are up 2 games to 1. :) As for the real World Series, who cares?
